Hunting Eve / Iris Johansen.
Eve has escaped from her kidnapper, madman Jim Doane, at least temporarily. While Doane hunts for her in the rough wilderness of Colorado s Rio Grande Forest, others are seeking her whereabouts and planning her rescue and/or Doane s capture. Characters with special talents include Kendra Michaels, whose vision is particularly acute; Seth Caleb, who can manipulate the flow of other people s blood; Margaret Douglas, who can read animals thoughts; and assassin Lee Zander, who may or may not be Eve s father. Eventually, Eve s lover, Atlanta police officer Joe Quinn; wounded friend Jane MacGuire; and CIA agent Venable converge on Doane s remote hideaway for a cliffhanger ending.
